We are working hard to try to provide even more tutoring, mentoring, and support for children from adverse backgrounds, in particular focusing on looked-after and foster care students whose education and confidence have suffered from abuse, neglect, or trauma, and for various reasons, have fallen through cracks in the educational system. We work with students from all around Calderdale.
We believe that by teaching and motivating students based on their individual preferences and learning style, we can achieve not only an improvement in specific skills but also a positive change in attitude towards learning and the effort made in the classroom.
By teaching according to ‘motivational theory’ we can help students see the positive outcomes of learning, and instil the belief that that they can succeed.

Donations made through our LocalGiving site go directly to the ATQ fund to enable us to continue with lessons. You can also donate, at no extra cost to you, through ‘Easy Fundraising’ when you shop online.
We also accept donations of old textbooks and you can also buy items which are on our Amazon Wishlist here.

We are part of a scheme which coordinates a program where professional people in Calderdale offer help to older students who will benefit from career advice and guidance in their specific field.
Tesco Blue Token Scheme (Until 30th September 2022)
The Tesco “Blue Tokens Scheme” allows shoppers to donate to a local charity of their choice. Each time a customer shops they will be offered a blue token at the checkout and be able to vote for the project they want the money to go to.
Voting is open to vote for ATQ until 30th September 2022.
The eligible Tesco shops are the Halifax Superstore, Halifax express (market street), Hipperholme Leeds, Greetland Express, Sowerby Bridge superstore, Ovenden Express and Halifax (School Lane) Express.
